Yesterday was a disaster. Apparently I'm just not meant to go to school. I am a bit worried about what may happen in all this. Mandy seems less worried . . . I just don't know.
On the way home from The High School, we stopped in at a little Chinese place in town. They played American country music and had stickers all over the walls. The dining room could seat up to 35 people. The door had a sign on it that said "Suite F." The food was good, but not amazing, and styrofoam cups make everything taste gross.
I have been thinking about starting a writers group. If anyone is interested, please contact me somehow. It is something that I have wanted to do for years now, ever since I read "Juicy Writing" by Brigid Lowry. I have scads of group and individual writing prompts, exercises, games, etc. and if anyone else finds some, that will be fantabulous as well! It will probably be done mainly online, but anyone who wants to can talk to me about meeting up in person for "session" as well.
Been reading some Geoff/Wat Knight's Tale slash. I would not advise anyone else to read these. They are awful. And yet I continue to make my way down the page. Why? I couldn't say. Although I must admit, I had been slashing Geoff/Wat/Will in my mind for years before I found a website dedicated to it! There are many other pairings, too. Geoff and Kate, Kate and Adhemar, Will and Adhemar, Will and Kate, Will's sister Eleanor and Geoff or Edward. My favourite movie . . .
Well, that's really it for the moment. Toodle-pip!

My Own "Lyrics to Live By"
Those who know me well, know that I am all about lyrics. I write them on the walls, fill countless notebooks with them, write them on my arms, quote them at random times and use them as Facebook statuses to the point that everyone thinks I'm clinically insane. Lyrics are pretty much my favourite things in the entire world, no joke. So here are some lyrics that I find inspirational, or just SO true:
"Give some meanings
To the means to your end." - Interpol, Not Even Jail
"You can turn off the sun,
But I'm still gonna shine." - Jason Mraz, The Remedy
"Knock me down, I'll get right
Back up again. I'll come back stronger
Than a powered-up Pac-man." - Kaiser Chiefs, Oh My God
"Upon us all a little rain must fall." - Led Zeppelin, The Rain Song
"Remember what it felt like to be alone." - MGMT, Future Reflections
"True perfection has to be imperfect." - Oasis, Little By Little
"You can have it all,
But how much do you want it?" - Oasis, Supersonic
"I'll have my way, in my own time.
I'll have my say, my star will shine." - Oasis, Magic Pie (Oasis is just amazing, people)
"You've got to change the world
And use this chance to be heard. Your time is now." - Muse, Butterflies and Hurricanes
"You've got more than money and sense my friend,
You've got heart." - Noah and the Whale, L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.
"All you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be." - Pink Floyd, Breathe
"Ashes and diamonds, foe and friend,
We are all equal in the end." - Pink Floyd, Two Suns in the Sunset
"Immerse your soul in love!" - Radiohead, Street Spirit (Fade Out) - you were just waiting for them, huh?
"If you try the best you can, the best you can is good enough." - Radiohead, Optimistic
"I got nothing to do today but smile." - Simon and Garfunkel, The Only Living Boy in New York
"It's a hard life to live, so live it well." - The Kooks, Ooh La
"We're not enemies; we just disagree." - The Strokes, Is This It
"Ima do the things that I wanna do, I ain't got a thing to prove to you." - Weezer, Pork and Beans
"Nobody else is stronger than I am, yesterday I moved a mountain
I'd like to be your hero. I am a mighty little man!" - Steve Burns, Mighty Little Man
"Stop whispering, start shouting." - Radiohead, Stop Whispering
"I'm not a vegetable, I will not control myself." - Radiohead, Vegetable
Well I could come up with tons more but I'll end it there for the time being. Toodle-pip!

Musings . . .
Well, I'm thinking. That's never a good sign.
I'm listening to Central Booking, by Bishop Allen. I quite like this chappie - I only recently discovered him, and I'm rather glad I did.
I have a strange feeling that I'm in love, but with no one in particular. Is this normal? Probably not. Oh, well.
Steve Burns is playing Blue's Clues on the tele. He is lookin' fine in his green stripey shirt. I know I'm weird.
Song just changed! It's now A Strange Education, by The Cinematics, a long-time favourite group of mine. Oh, music, how I love you.
I miss my friends back in Maine at random times. Perhaps the one I miss the most is not the one you or I would expect . . . I wonder why that is?
Which is worse, failing or never trying? You'd think the "right answer" would be never trying, but I think it depends on the situation and the person. Some kinds of failure can ruin some people. I think the right thing to do is to do whatever your heart tells you. If you must try something, no matter the outcome, you must try it. Otherwise, choose carefully.
I wonder just how much of my life so far I have actually been in control of. It's difficult to see these things in your own life. However, I often get a sense that I am very dependent on others. But isn't that also a form of control? I'm deciding to depend on people, right? Or am I? I just don't know. I do know that I'm also not very assertive. Should I be? Or is that just another way of causing trouble? And is trouble really always a bad thing?
An Eye For An Eye by Editors. There's a clue on the chalkboard, Steve, better get out your notebook and you know I love your brown eyes.
Maybe someday they'll figure out who The Zodiac Killer was. What's up with the skeleton with a pumpkin between his legs?
Yes, Steve, it's me, let me in.
Apparently Switches did a Beach Boys cover. Oddly enough, I like it.
Well, that's all for now. Toodle-pip! (This seems to be a well-received farewell, so I will continue to use it, just to make you all happy.)

Another Character: Siobhan Cahill
Here's an interview I conducted with Keirod's younger sister, Siobhan. For those of you who can't pronounce Irish names, that's shuh-VAWN. She is the narrator throughout most of the story.
Me: Okay, Siobhan. If you could have two whole weeks for vacation, and you could go and do anything you wanted, what and where would it be?
Siobhan: To be honest, I'm not much of a vacation person. I think I'd prefer to stay at home with my family. But if I had to pick one place to go, it'd have to be Hay-on-Wye in Wales: the town of books! I could practically live there.
Me: Books must be very important to you. Even more so than music?
Siobhan: Oh . . . I don't know. Music is important to me because it's important to Keirod. I mostly just listen to what he likes. But books are my thing.
Me: If you had a weakness for one of the seven deadly sins, what would it be and why? (pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, sloth)
Siobhan: Oh, dear. I suppose it'd be envy. I get jealous quite easily I'm afraid . . .
Me: If you could bring one person back to life and spend an entire day with him or her, who would it be and why?
Siobhan: Sylvia Plath! My favourite poet. She is my idol. (grins)
Me: If you won a three-million dollar lottery, what would you do with the money?
Siobhan: I - I - I have - no idea. Ha! There's only so much I would even think of buying. So . . . maybe make a giant library and fill it with all the books AND music I could find!
Me: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Siobhan: As shallow as this may sound, I would change my appearance. My sweet brother tells me I'm gorgeous all the time, but the boys at school seem to think differently. I think they would be more willing to give me a chance if I were prettier . . .
Me: What do you do to relax after a bad day?
Siobhan: Do you have to ask? Haha! I read a book. Listen to some soothing music. Take a bubble bath. Maybe talk it out with Keirod or Mother and Da.
Me: What do you do when you're angry?
Siobhan: Start an awful row! When I'm angry, I kick things, I scream, I break dishes . . . it's not pretty. You wouldn't think it to look at me, but I can be very aggressive when I really feel like it.
Me: Wow. Do you have a secret passion? What is it, and why is it a secret?
Siobhan: Don't think I do, to be honest. I don't keep many secrets.
Me: Describe your personality in three words.
Siobhan: Quiet, creative, family-oriented.
Me: How about your looks?
Siobhan: Hmm . . . red-headed, tall, skinny
Me: Where do you want to be in your life in ten years?
Siobhan: I would love to get married to an amazing guy, open an indie-style bookstore and live near my family.
Me: What do you think would make the perfect first date?
Siobhan: Something quirky, like dressing up as pirates and going parrot-shopping at the nearest pet shop. Or driving around, with the passenger blindfolded, taking random directions until you find a place to stop, and then having a picnic with all mini foods.
Me: How important is money to you?
Siobhan: Not very. The most important things are the things you can't buy.
Me: What do you consider romantic?
Siobhan: Music. If someone wrote a song for me, I swear I'd marry them. That's one time that music conveys something that plain words just can't.
Me: How do you think others see you?
Siobhan: Shy. That's about it, really. Haha.
Me: Okay, Siobhan. If you could have two whole weeks for vacation, and you could go and do anything you wanted, what and where would it be?

First Writing Post :)
Okay so I found a really great character outline format, created by Charlotte Dillon. It breaks it down more than most outlines, which is very helpful to someone like me who tends to write an entire story instead of an outline in the first place. I'm really enjoying this one, though. And I thought I'd share with you one of my characters' outline here (but not the whole thing). I would like comments on what you think of the character himself, as if he was a real person that you had just met and gotten to know. Thanks!

First Post!
Alright, here goes. I have started a blog. Why? Because I'm a writer. And writers need blogs right? Yes. They do. At least I think they do. Could be wrong. But I'm pretty sure I'm right. Right?
Well, first off, I have recently moved out to Utah. Staying with my uncle and his family. Fun people. Enjoying myself. I am also more "proximal" (as Alexander/Alex/Sasha Perchov would say) with some other relatives. That is also very nice . :)
Now. Just so you know, this blog is not a "look at me this is me how do you like ME!!!" kind of blog. Nor is it a blog with a specific theme, such as rock climbing, cats, celebrity gossip, or school. Or even teenagerhood or writing, despite the title. This blog is basically just me putting random musings on the internet for the heck of it. Just to share with the world how I think. Because they need to know. Right? I probably will talk about my writing fairly often, but I'll also talk about my philosophies on life, how my new life is going out here in Utah and all my adventures, books I read, movies I watch, sites I discover, random cool stuff, random uncool stuff, and just about anything else I happen to be thinking of.
Well there. Tada. That was a post. Right? Right. Well, toodle-pip, cheerio, tickety-tock and all that nonsense!
